Sunday

On my last post, I forgot to mention probably the most disturbing one I've ever seen. Darwin's Nightmare. A terrible pesimistic and realistic approach to the explotation of EU groups on the African regions surrounding Lake Victoria and the consequences of their actions. A must must see. No kidding.

Today I spoke to my great friend Cirilo from London. He sent me this link of a chilean newspaper where they were remembering a disastrous airplane accident, 10 years ago in Peru, were 40 young chilean travelers were killed, among them good friends and people I knew. Hope you guys are well wherever you are...

Probably inherited from my dad (who also has nothing to do with weather), I am the kind of people over interested in the weather, so in case you wanna know how is it looking outside in NYC on 7th Street at the moment, its rainy, cold and quiet, the usual hot girls, crazy characters and cars with their bass blowing people's heads off. One more Sunday in NYC.

Peace.

Must see Documentaries

Today I went to see Syriana. Great movie about the million fucked up consequences of oil and greed everywhere in the world.
Since in the city, documentaries and sort of political films have become a great tasty gate to see what's happening beyond this island.
Here is a list of some recommended ones for you down in places with less access to them to keep an eye on the titles.
- Born into Brothels: prostitution, hope and art in Cacutta, India.
- Super Size Me: fat & nasty Mcshit.
- The Fourth World War: riots and social movements around the world.
- The Corporation: the usual excesses of those wearing ties.
- One Giant Leap: comunication through art.
- Gunner Palace: Kind of and MTV view and criticism af the war in Iraq.
- Any Michale Moore film of course.
- S21, The Killing Machine of the Khmer Rouge: The sad Cambodian Genocide.

and here a few I have not seen yet but heard great things about it,
- Why We Fight: U.S lack of touch.
- What The Bleep Do We Know: Relation between quantum physics and day to day reality.
- I know I'm not alone: Michael Franti (leader of Spearhead) trip to war zone to feel the reality.
- Capturing the Friedmans: Upper class jewish family with some real issues.
- Spellbound: Spelling contests at its best.

Hope that's good for now. Please feel free to write comments about these or other films you recommend.
Peace.

...

So long, after all this time, i'm back to take care of my blog life.
Sitting at my bar here on the East Village, been trying to expand my horizons away from politics and closer to art finally.
I can't deny the fact that the end of the year holidays brought some nostalgy from family and friends back in the summer down in Chile. Got some of the most beautiful unexpected phone calls from the people that matter the most from me all over. Thanks to all of you for that, you know who you are.
"Sex, media and real state is all what NY is about" my friend Christos told me when thinking and talking about some ideas and art projects for the future. So there it goes... the idea is there, the team is there, time to start making the project come true.
Winter after all has not been that raw or painful here in the city. After a rough start, it became pretty gentle and mild to all of us...
Been working in some pictures i'm gonna put up soon for you to enjoy.
Happy new beginnings to all of you.
Hugs&Love. CaNo.
